The faculty, staff, parents, and students at Kennedy Elementary strive for academic and social excellence. Together we have developed a strong community bond, which emanates throughout the school setting and into the Ogdensburg Community. As I began my first year as principal, I knew that I had the support of this motivated Kennedy family as we stressed the importance of physical, emotional, and social development. The programming our team has developed demonstrates our commitment to molding the whole child into an Effective Communicator, Productive Worker, and Complex Thinker. Together we will succeed. We believe:

Every child is capable of success, no exceptions.

Attitude is everything.

That every child is gifted in some way.

That it is important to greet each community member with a
friendly smile every time.

In high standards and high expectations it is our responsibility
to create a safe, nurturing environment where risk taking is not
only accepted but also expected.

Every day is a celebration and an opportunity to support the
learning of others.

The regular use of compassion and humor improves all interactions.

In giving professional and personal courtesy to each other;
treat people the way you want to be treated or better yet; treat
everyone the way you want your own child to be treated.

Have a fun and safe summer!!!

Summer Sun

Here are some tips for managing the summer sun:

  1. UV Rays are strongest in the middle of the day.  Plan indoor activities at that time or look for shade to prevent sunburn.
  2. Cover the skin with a shirt AND sunscreen to avoid sunburn!
  3. Wear a hat – preferably one that covers the neck and ears.  When wearing a baseball style hat, remember to apply sunscreen to the neck and ears.
  4. Sunglasses protect eyes from UV rays.  Look for sunglasses that wrap around and block nearly 100% of UV rays.
  5. Use sunscreen!  Use a sunscreen with at least a SPF of 15 and UVA/UVB protection.
